Poster Printing with PowerPoint
If you need to design a poster on your PC, PowerPoint is the best way to go. PowerPoint is a simple software system that can aid you in designing your poster so that you can get it printed and out on display. If you have never used PowerPoint before, please read on for some helpful tips.
First, open up a blank and brand new file in PowerPoint. No file name, no presentation name...completely blank. Then, select the size of your poster image. PowerPoint cannot go any larger than 56 x 56.
Next, you need to create text. This means you create a text box. First, you click on the text box tool or select text box under the insert menu. Next, click and drag where you want your text. You will then see a rectangular text box. You can adjust the size of it any time by clicking on the edges of the box. You can change the font, color, and size of the text any time. You just highlight the text to be changed and then make the change. You can also move the text box at any time. You now can add images. There are two ways to do this. Insert picture or copy and paste. Insert picture is the most common method. If you have an image saved in a file (such as JPEG, GIF, PICT, etc.), select insert image, then select the file, then select where you would like it to appear. You can resize the image and move it around as needed. The image will appear on your document with handles. Use one of the corner handles to re-size it. Copy and paste works the same way, you select an image on your computer, copy it, then pate it to your poster. However, the resolution is not as good. If you want to add a background, you select one on the format menu. Lines, boxes, arrows, etc. can also be added. This can be found in the tool box menu. You can also zoom the image of your poster in or out. This is found under the view menu.
Now all you have to do is save the image and begin your poster printing. If you are printing it your self, simply go under file and then press print. If you are using a poster printing facility, save the image to a disk, or send the file to them over the internet.
These are some tips you should know on how to use PowerPoint for poster printing. PowerPoint is an effective means of creating a quality poster image. It is very simple to use, and your resulting poster will be quite nice to look at!
